Who are we?
Amazones Eco Land is a groundbreaking holistic haven for women around the world to gather. We are a women's centre; a safe space for women to take part , workshops, or courses, or simply to enjoy a stay in our beautiful land. Online, Amazones is a central meeting point for women to connect through blogging, online talks, messaging groups, and more.

How we came to be
We started out simply as a small group of women with a shared vision. Most of us have carried this vision close to our hearts for years. It is the idea that a space can exist for women by women, which combines together the holistic and ecological care of the land, the love of art and creation, self-expression and nurturing, and of course, the love of women.
When we shared the Amazones Eco Land vision with the world we were touched by the response and embrace of women all over the globe. This was not our vision alone. It is much bigger than us - it is an emerging collective vision of women in our present times.

Our Land
Amazones Eco Land is located on the shore of Lesvos, a Greek Island in the northern Aegean Sea (just a 45 minute ferry ride from Turkey). We have 7 acres of wild land covered in olive trees, native plants, and bordering on one of the most breathtaking beaches on the island.

About Lesvos Island
Lesvos first became known as a symbol of female energy, love, and empowerment due to the poet Sappho, known for centuries as the first lesbian poet. Her poetry, which often described her love and desire for other women, was well-known and greatly admired, and she became a symbol of love between women.
Who were the Amazones
According to ancient Greek legend, the Amazones were a group of female warriors and hunters who were equal to men in skill and prowess in all of their endeavors. As the legend goes, society was made up of women only. They were said to have set out to expeditions all over the world, conquering land, building temples, and even established cities.
The moon has always been a symbol of raw femininity and beauty. The Amazones women were said to worship the moon. In fact, the word “Amazon” may be derived from the ancient Circassian language meaning "moon-mother" or "mother of the forest".
The Amazones women were royalty. They were warrior queens. They were trailblazers, they broke boundaries, they raised generations of strong, talented, capable women. We are proud to call ourselves Amazones, and invite you with open arms to join us.

OUR VISION & GOALS
TO CREATE A HOMELAND FOR WOMEN BY WOMEN
It is the idea that a space can exist for women by women, which combines together the holistic and ecological care of the land, the love of art and creativity, self-expression and nurturing, and of course, the love of women.
TO RUN WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS
Establishing international empowerment programs on the land for women minorities that will be supported by our Amazones community. From retreats to events, from volunteering opportunities to partnerships, we wish to create & support an international community of women rising together in power.
TO CO-CREATE THE ONLINE AMAZONES NETWORK
Creating an advanced digital platform that will allow women to promote their art, skills, etc. This will also be a social platform for sharing and continuing community relationships remotely. The platform will be co-created, co-owned, and held by and for the community. It will be a space for networking, supporting, and holding conversations on key topics relevant to the LGBT and women's empowerment communities.
TO (RE)CONNECT TO MOTHER EARTH
Connecting women to nature by working collaboratively on an ecologically friendly land. Rediscovering what it means and how it feels to live in harmony with Mother Nature, to participate in the cycle of abundance of planet Earth, and to develop a deeper connection with our roots.
TO COMMIT TO SUPPORTING EACH OTHER
Creating a strong, supportive, flourishing international community that will help women fulfil their dreams and feel belonging. Recognising that we can only rise up together, in love and community. Committing to creating a safe space to hold one another both in our strength and our vulnerability.
TO SPREAD THE POWER OF LOVE
We believe that we as women have the power to spread love and create reality in a world of peace through our togetherness, and our love and support for each other and mother earth.
